Treatment

Do you treat male fertility problems?

Yes, we absolutely treat male fertility problems – it is one of our specialties! Just the same as we treat female fertility problems, we will do an initial consultation to review your medical history and then order any necessary testing. After your testing is completed you will have a consultation with one of our physicians to discuss your best plan of care.

Do you do tubal ligation reversals?

  • Yes, we have performed thousands of IVF procedures and hundreds of tubal reversals. Our team is one of the country's leaders in both of these areas.
  • In many cases IVF is less costly and more successful than tubal reversals. However, we cannot provide personal medical information over the phone. We would love to schedule a consultation for you with one of our nurse practitioners to discuss your options.

Do you have egg donors available?

Yes, we have two options for egg donor recipients:

  1. Fresh egg donors [known or unknown] - You would select an egg donor from our egg donor bank on our website. Our egg donor coordinator would then arrange for you and your egg donor to prepare for egg retrieval and embryo transfer by scheduling the appropriate bloodwork, ultrasounds, and proper medication monitoring.
  2. Frozen egg donors – You would select and egg donor. These egg donors have already gone through the IVF process and have frozen eggs cryopreserved. You will be scheduled for bloodwork, ultrasounds, and medication monitoring before your embryo transfer will take place.

Can we use donated sperm?

Yes, you can. You will be able to discuss the process for using donated sperm with our nurse practitioner at the time of your appointment. She will inform you of all treatment options, as well as the process for using donated sperm.

Do you treat patients age 40 and older?

Yes, the specialists and staff of Durban Fertility Clinic consult with and treat patients age 40 and older. We will provide a treatment plan that best suits your family planning goals in coordination with your age. Our physicians will provide the same expert advice and recommendations provided to all patients.

Do you treat patients with a high BMI?

Yes, we do see patients with a high BMI. In cases where a high BMI is present, your physician may recommend lifestyle changes to improve your BMI prior to treatment in order to better improve your chances of success. Each individual case is different, so physician recommendations can vary depending on personal medical history, family medical history, etc.

Do you treat patients who have experienced recurrent miscarriage?

Yes, if you have experienced one or more miscarriages we encourage you to contact us for a consultation. Our physicians have experience treating cases of recurrent miscarriage, and can assist with determining a diagnosis and treatment plan.
